Sebastian Vettel has already wrapped up the drivers championship for this season, but he’s also still paying off on the F1 betting board. The Red Bull Racing driver will be gunning for yet another victory this weekend at the inaugural Indian Grand Prix.
Vettel, who has an insurmountable 349-222 lead on McLaren’s Jenson Button in the driver standings with just three races left in the season, is coming off a win on October 16 in the Korean Grand Prix. That was Vettel’s 10th victory in 16 races this season.
It’s no wonder, then, that Vettel is listed as the 6/5 favorite on the F1 odds at the Bodog Sportsbook to take the checkered flag this weekend in the Indian Grand Prix – a brand new event for the 2011 season at the Buddh International Circuit.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton, who won in China and Germany this season, is next at 3/1 odds, with teammate Button at 7/2 odds. Button picked up victories in Canada, Hungary, and Japan this season, and he ended up in fourth place in the Korean Grand Prix last time out. Hamilton finished second behind Vettel in that race.
Red Bull’s Mark Webber, who picked up a third-place result in Korea, is at 11/2 odds to win the Indian Grand Prix this weekend, with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso at 7/1 odds. Alonso had to settle for a fifth-place result last time out in Korea, but he’s the other F1 driver with a victory on his resume this season (in Britain).
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (100/1) and Mercedes GP teammates Nico Rosberg (100/1) and Michael Schumacher (150/1) then headline the list of longshots for this week’s event. Massa was sixth in Korea, while Rosberg was eighth, and Schumacher didn’t finish.
At the Bodog Sportsbook you can also wager on the winning team, with Red Bull Racing the 2/3 favorite to finish in first place this weekend. McLaren (3/2), Ferrari (7/1), and Mercedes GP (66/1) follow them on that list for the Indian Grand Prix.
